Polyester is one of the most versatile and widely used synthetic fibers in the world. It is available in a wide variety of deniers, lusters and qualities. It is also available in both staple spun yarns and filament yarns. The differences between them are that staple spun yarns consist of short length fibers whereas filament yarns have continuous or unlimited length. Depending on the type of process used for their manufacturing, polyester yarns can be categorised as partially oriented (POY), fully drawn (FDY) or drawn and textured (DTY).

A DTY yarn is a texturized form of POY that has been processed by introducing durable crimp twists, loops or interlaces on the surface of its filaments. During texturization the fibers or filaments of POY are heat set in a twisted condition which gives them bulk, increased stretch and a more pleasing aesthetic appearance than a plain POY yarn. The resulting yarn can then be knitted or woven with other filament yarns to get fabrics of various types and can be used in making a broad range of textile products from home furnishings fabric to fashion fabrics, denim, terry towels etc.

The main advantage of a DTY is that it can be dyed very easily which makes the end product cheaper and healthier for consumers. DTY can be obtained in a wide range of colors using either dope dye or conventional dyeing. Another great advantage of DTY is that it can be produced in small quantities which means lower production cost per unit and less environmental impact.

Our DTY is made from Catonic PET chips and can be obtained in a wide range of colours by dope dyeing technology or by conventional dyeing. We offer our DTY in semi dull and bright lustres based on the type of filament sections. The yarn is also heat-set to permanently thermo-set the twisted shape. The dyed DTY is packed on paper bobbins while the raw white DTY that will be used for dyeing is loosely packed in a plastic tube. It is then dipped in dye to get the desired colour. All the bobbins are then packed into cartons for shipping.
